Adolescent Health Training
Roopnagar, March 19, 2026: A comprehensive training program on “Understanding Adolescence” was successfully organized today at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Roopnagar. The program focused on important topics such as menstrual health and hygiene, nutrition and anaemia, mental health, and emotional well-being.
The workshop was conducted for nodal teachers from various schools to strengthen their understanding and help them guide adolescents effectively.
The session included expert talks by Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, who explained menstrual health and hygiene. Ms. Jashanpreet Kaur, Dietician, highlighted the importance of balanced nutrition and prevention of anaemia. Ms. Himani Sharma, Mental Health Counsellor, spoke about emotional well-being and mental health issues among adolescents.
On this occasion, Mr. Satnam Singh, Lecturer Biology, GSSS Takhatgarh, also delivered an informative lecture, adding valuable insights to the program.
The program was organized under the leadership of Sh. Prem Kumar Mittal, DEO (SE) Roopnagar, Mr. inderjit Singh DY DEO(SE) and Smt. Sandeep Kaur, Principal, GGSSS Roopnagar.
The successful conduction of the workshop was made possible with the efforts of Mrs. Javtinder Kaur, School/Block Guidance Counsellor, and Mr. Prabhjeet Singh, District Guidance Counsellor, who played an important role in organizing and managing the event.
Mrs. Harpreet Kaur lect. Punjabi and Mr. Sanjeev Kumar actively supported the team and efficiently managed the registration counter along with the school staff.
The training, held from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, saw enthusiastic participation from teachers. The initiative was highly appreciated for spreading awareness and equipping educators with the necessary knowledge to support adolescents effectively.
