
Rupnagar, 26 November: Under the leadership of Mr. Prem Kumar Mittal, District Education Officer (SE), Rupnagar, Mass Counselling Sessions were successfully organised on 26 November 2025 at Government Senior Secondary School, Mianpur and Government High School, Balamgarh Mandwara.
The sessions were aimed at guiding students on academic choices, emotional well-being, skill development, and future career opportunities.
The counselling team included:
Mr. Prabhjeet Singh District Guidance Counsellor
Mr. Gurvinder Singh, Coordinator, RSETI (Rural Self Employment Training Institute), Rangilpur, Ropar
Dr. Jasvir Singh, career Counsellor from DC Office, Rozgar (Employment) Office
All three resource persons addressed students at both schools, motivated them to set educational goals, and guided them about available career pathways and self-improvement strategies.
At GSSS Mianpur, the event was coordinated by Principal Mrs. Nisha Samnohtra and School Counsellor Mrs. Kavita Verma. Teachers present included Mr. Neeraj, Mr. Shiv Shankar, Mr. Harpreet, Mr. Kamaljit, Mr. Pankaj, Mr. Rajesh, Mrs. Sunita, Mrs. Rimpi, and Mrs. Hemlata.
A similar combined Mass Counselling Session was held at GHS Balamgarh Mandwara under the supervision of Headmistress Mrs. Anu Hans and School Guidance Counsellor Mr. Jagdeep.
Students at both schools actively participated, interacted with the speakers, and gained valuable guidance. The initiative was appreciated for strengthening students’ confidence and supporting them in making informed academic and career decisions.
