10,000 Seed Ball Making Mega Campaign – 2026
The District Education Office (Secondary Education), Rupnagar, Kohom Foundation, and S. Jagjit Singh, Science Teacher, Government High School Raipur, are jointly organizing the 10,000 Seed Ball Making Mega Campaign – 2026 to promote environmental conservation and ecological restoration.
During this special environmental initiative, participants will prepare 10,000 seed balls using seeds of native and eco-friendly tree species, including Indian Beech (Pongamia), Acacia (Kikar), Gulmohar, Subabul (Leucaena leucocephala), Jamun, Bamboo, and other indigenous trees Fifty students from seven Government Schools of District Rupnagar, along with local youth, will actively participate in this hands-on training camp. Practical training on seed ball preparation will be provided by S. Jagjit Singh, Science Teacher, along with environmental experts.
The seed balls prepared during the camp will be dispersed by drone by Kohom Foundation across the Shivalik Hills, aiming to expand natural forests, conserve biodiversity, and strengthen the region’s green cover.
