Expert Visit Conducted in District Rupnagar Under Career Guidance Programme
Under the Career Guidance Programme, an expert visit was successfully conducted in District Rupnagar to guide students about career opportunities in science, technology, engineering and allied fields. The programme aimed to help students make informed career choices through direct interaction with experts.
The expert team included Mr. Ajay Sharma (Project Associate, CSIR-NIScPR, New Delhi), Dr. Pushpanjali Tripathy (Principal Scientist, CSIR-NIScPR, New Delhi), Dr. Mukesh Kumar (Associate Professor, Department of Physics, IIT Rupnagar) and Mr. Foran Chand. The experts interacted with students, shared insights about career pathways, higher education options, and future prospects in STEM fields.
The programme was organised by Mr. Prabhjeet Singh, with Mrs. Jatvinder Kaur anchoring the event. Mr. Lokesh Mohan Sharma attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries present included Mr. Prem Kumar Mittal, District Education Officer (SE), and Mrs. Sandeep Kaur, Principal, Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Rupnagar.
A total of 250 students from the district participated enthusiastically in the career guidance sessions. Certificates were awarded to students and teachers for their participation. Proper arrangements for breakfast and lunch were made for all participants.
The registration work was handled by Dr. Manpreet Kaur and Mrs. Maya, while Mr. Sanjeev Kumar managed the refreshment arrangements.
The expert visit proved highly beneficial, motivating students to explore career options scientifically and plan their future with clarity and confidence.
