Rupnagar, 20 December: Under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan 2025–26, a district-level workshop on Safety and Security was successfully organized at the School of Eminence, Rupnagar on 18 December, 2025 with the objective of strengthening awareness among teachers and educational administrators regarding child safety, protection laws, and disaster preparedness.
The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Prem Kumar Mittal, District Education Officer (Secondary Education), and Mr. Shamsher Singh, District Education Officer (Primary). Their guidance and vision provided strong direction for the effective planning and implementation of the programme.
Mr. Inderjit Singh, Deputy District Education Officer, and Mrs. Monika Bhutani, Principal DIET, addressed the gathering and delivered motivational lectures, encouraging teachers to remain alert, responsible, and proactive in ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
The workshop covered important legal frameworks including the POCSO Act 2012, Juvenile Justice Act 2015, Child and Adolescent Labour Act (Amended 2016), RTE Act 2009, along with NDMA Guidelines, Safety & Security Guidelines 2021, and Road Safety norms.
The programme featured Prabhjeet Singh and Vivek Kumar Sharma as District Resource Persons.
During the workshop, Prabhjeet Singh, District Guidance Counsellor, delivered an informative presentation on the “My Career Advisor App”, highlighting its role in providing career guidance and counselling support to students and teachers.
Other eminent resource persons included Mr. Gursohan Singh from the District Red Cross Society, Maninder Ma’am and her team from the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development, and Dr. Jasvir Singh, Career Counsellor from the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises, who shared valuable insights and practical knowledge with the participants.
The workshop witnessed active participation from Block Nodal Officers (Principals), Block Primary Education Officers, Block Guidance Counsellors, and nominated teachers from all blocks of the district.
The programme was hosted at the School of Eminence, Rupnagar, under the leadership of Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur, Principal, whose cooperation and support ensured the smooth conduct of the event.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating the efforts of all officers, resource persons, and participants for their collective commitment towards creating a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment for students.
